Combining NoSQL Technology and Centrify PAM
Together, we’re better. Centrify has teamed up with MongoDB to unlock the synergies of both companies’ solutions and secure access to relational databases.
MongoDB allows organizations to move faster than they could with relational databases at one tenth of the cost.
Centrify and MongoDB are working together to accelerate MongoDB adoption and provide a new, more secure way to deploy MongoDB that enables enterprises to transform their businesses via the power of MongoDB. MongoDB stores data as documents in a binary representation called BSON (Binary JSON). Documents that share a similar structure are typically organized as collections. You can think of collections as being analogous to a table in a relational database: documents are similar to rows, and fields are similar to columns.
As a result of the document model, data in MongoDB is more localized, which dramatically reduces the need to join separate tables. The result is dramatically higher performance and scalability across commodity hardware as a single read to the database can retrieve the entire document. In addition, MongoDB documents are more closely aligned to the structure of objects in the programming language. This makes it simpler and faster for developers to model how data in the application will map to data stored in the database. Simple and fast is not enough, that is why MongoDB turned to Centrify for Securing MongoDB clusters in the enterprise.
Centrify and MongoDB have an established working relationship as partners and we are pleased by Centrify’s certification on MongoDB Enterprise Server. Centrify Privileged Access Management (PAM) founded on Zero Trust principles makes it easy and cost-effective to deploy MongoDB clusters while leveraging existing Active Directory skillsets and infrastructure. Overall, we value integrations like Centrify that help our enterprise customers easily identify and experience the benefits of adopting MongoDB., Vice President of Partners, MongoDB
MongoDB often stores sensitive and business critical data including customer, financial and personally identifiable information (PII), which should be governed by corporate security and compliance policies. Only users with a business need should have access to MongoDB environments, least privilege should be enforced, and activity should be audited to satisfy regulatory compliance requirements.
Centrify Privileged Access Management for MongoDB is an enterprise-grade offering that makes securing even the most complex MongoDB environments simple and straightforward by securely connecting your MongoDB cluster to your existing Active Directory. The result is enterprise-wide authentication, access control, privilege management and auditing.
Benefits for Joint Customers
By leveraging Centrify Privileged Access Management, MongoDB customers can:
- Secure and simplify MongoDB environments without the hassle of deploying and managing new identity infrastructure
Centrify minimizes costs by eliminating the need for parallel identity management infrastructure — that may not be enterprise-ready — and allows you to leverage existing Active Directory skill sets.
- Mitigate threats resulting from identity-related risks and address compliance and audit requirements
MongoDB infrastructures store your organization’s most important data. Centrify controls access, manages privileges, audits activity and associates everything back to an individual, thereby making your data more secure. Centrify delivers cost-effective compliance with reporting on who has access and who did what across your data environment.
- Increase productivity and security via single sign-on for administrators and users
By extending the power of Active Directory’s Kerberos and LDAP capabilities to your MongoDB clusters, Centrify delivers authentication for administrators and users.
