CENTRIFY IDENTITY SERVICE FOR MAC CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT
Lithium Technologies was transitioning much of its Linux-based development onto the Mac, and that meant 75% of their employees would soon be transitioning as well. The company needed to extend identity management to Macs for compliance, consistency and to minimize IT service costs.
- Bring Macs into compliance with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 (SSAE 16) security standards
- Provide consistent IT support for Macs
- Consolidate user access to company resources
“We’ve been very surprised by the amount of support time that Centrify has saved us. We expected to cut support calls in half but the reality has been in the neighborhood of 80%,” says Don Small, Sr. Director of IT at Lithium Technologies.
Before the Identity Service for Mac solution, the IT department was receiving between 50 and 75 requests each week for password resets or assistance, at an approximate annual cost of $128,000. In addition to the significant time and cost savings for IT support, Group Policies within Active Directory have been extended to Mac systems to ensure compliance with ISO 27001 and SSAE SOC 2 industry standards.
