Through the OEM partnership, Samsung will embed Centrify's Active Directory-based mobile security and cloud identity technology on millions of devices

The Centrify team describes what it means for customers and their users.

Centrify and Samsung are delivering on their shared vision of enterprise-class mobility and security that increases workforce productivity and simplifies administration for IT. The partnership will benefit customers by providing an "out-of-the-box" enterprise-ready mobile solution that easily integrates with existing identity infrastructure to unlock features like mobile user productivity and single sign-on, application management and device management.

KNOX Explained: Laptop Magazine interviews Centrify's David McNeely at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Samsung KNOX is a new Samsung solution that addresses advanced security requirements for the Android Platform. KNOX includes container technology that, with one-click, securely separates personal data on the device from corporate data and apps. Centrify Cloud Services will enable multi-application single sign-on for mobile and web apps inside the Samsung KNOX container, allowing customers to use their existing infrastructure — Microsoft Active Directory — to centrally manage KNOX containers, Samsung devices and role-based access to mobile applications. The Centrify technology Samsung is embedding is also generally available as part of Centrify's latest Cloud Services release, Centrify for Mobile 2013 and Centrify for SaaS 2013.

The additional, containerized layer of security added by KNOX has been key to the growing adoption of Samsung devices by security-conscious organizations. For example, the U.S. Department of Defense recently added Samsung to its approved device list.
