Centrify Featured on Port25

On Port25, Microsoft's Open Source web site, Centrify CTO Paul Moore explains what it takes to authenticate UNIX systems through Active Directory.

Centrify and Microsoft work together on many fronts to help our mutual customers understand how extending Active Directory to non-Microsoft platforms can help streamline IT operations and strengthen security. Microsoft realizes that Centrify enhances Active Directory's strategic value to organizations.

Here are some examples of how Centrify works closely and proactively with Microsoft to ensure seamless compatibility with Active Directory and related Microsoft technologies.

Microsoft Chooses Centrify

Microsoft's Open Source Software Lab, located at the company’s Redmond, Washington, headquarters, runs about 300 servers with more than 15 versions of UNIX and 50 Linux distributions. Microsoft uses the lab for a variety of purposes, which includes testing Windows interoperability solutions. As Microsoft's profile of the lab notes, the lab is staffed by "senior-level programmers and system administrators, some of whom were architects of popular Linux distributions or authors of well-regarded books." After researching a variety of solutions, Microsoft chose Centrify DirectControl to manage authentication across the systems in the lab.

"The combination of Active Directory and Centrify DirectControl gives us a really powerful single authentication solution across a highly mixed environment."
